Sharon Matheson, HOD Senior Schooling and Jeanine Briese, Industry Placement Officer, are located in S210, the Vocational Education Office, Monday to Friday.
Students can see Ms Matheson or Jeanine about school-based apprenticeships or traineeships (there are government rules about Australian citizenship to follow), work experience, industry placement, advice on employment opportunities and training courses (e.g. TAFE) as well as advice on avenues for improving job seeking skills and job interview skills.
Students can drop in to see these staff members before or after school as well as during the lunch breaks. These staff members may also arrange an appointment with students (and/or their parents/carers) to discuss any of the above topics during class time.
Sharon Matheson oversees all Vocational Education and, while she does meet with students, parents/carers and industry stakeholders (e.g. Employers, GTCs – Group Training Companies, AACs – Australian Apprenticeship Centres, RTOs – Registered Training Organisations).
Jeanine Briese is not a teacher and therefore, has greater flexibility with her time to meet with students, parents/carers and industry stakeholders.
