Year 12 Final Assembly

The final Year 12 Assembly began with a boisterous singing of the National Anthem, led by Year 12 student Rianna Jenkinson and Year 11 student Emily-Jane Harvey and The Ensemble.

Year 12 Coordinator Mrs McAleer led assembly and introduced Tony Clevin who presented the Acknowledgement of Country.

Principal's Address

Mr Green spoke briefly of the reality of this Year 12 Farewell that for the Gold Leaders, they are not only leaving Year 12 but their positions. He acknowledged the work and said thank you to those who wore badges and blazers representing the school as leaders. He then spoke of the Silver Leaders who worked tirelessly and our Bronze Leaders and all Year 12s for showing leadership as a cohort.  "Thank you. I wish you well and I say well done," he finished.

Ms McAleer then spoke of reflection, introducing the traditional photographic reflection on photos of students as they grew from Year 8s to Year 12s. The slideshow was accompanied by music from Justice Crew, American Authors, Sara Bareilles, Katy Perry, Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen, Nat Bassingthwaighte and Bruno Mars. Yes, that many songs to get through photos of the entire cohort: both The Originals and The Intruders.

The Assembly then enjoyed a Year 12 Video by Chloe Dalamaras.

Captains' Address

Lachlan and Emity presented their final address, giving thanks and speaking of their hopes for the future.

Lachlan spoke of the future with Year 12 students about to embark on their life after school. There are, he said, "many pathways that we wish to achieve and we have Harristown to thank for this."

Emity listed the many groups that deserved thanks for their efforts on behalf of the Year 12 group. To the Year 12s, she said, "Good luck to whatever awaits you in the future; it's sure to be remarkable."
