What’s the issue? Pornography is an issue that affects the majority of adolescents.
If your child has access to a mobile phone, laptop, tablet or any other internet-enabled device – or if they have any friends or siblings who do – then it is very likely that they will see pornography, even if they never seek it out. They may even make their own pornography – because they’d like to or because they are pressured to do so by a partner or peers.
In this free parent session, Maree Crabbe will discuss pornography and its effects on adolescents.

About the Presenter: Maree Crabbe is Director of the Australian community education project “Reality & Risk: Pornography, young people and sexuality.” Maree has worked with young people, and on issues effecting young people, for 25 years. She has developed and delivered programs focusing on sexual violence prevention, sexual diversity, pornography, sexting, and prevention of sexually transmissible infections. Her articles on young people, sexuality and pornography have been published in online and print media. For more information about the Reality & Risk project, see
