  • amazing Hawk Participation junior social, carnival, TYME music festival and arts day

    • 41% achieved an A for effort

Mr Green extended congratulations to students on the best ratings for effort and behaviour in over two years.  He looks forward to students showing that their effort, behaviour and achievement are the best ever at the end of the year.

Mrs Macdonald spoke about the recent Chess tournament held at Grammar school - not an easy competition and her pride in the students who represented our school.  She congratulated Michael, Chris, Pierce, Shakira and Griffin and encouraged all to enjoy the challenges and fun of Chess Club held at the Library second break on Fridays. There is a Chess Social on 23rd October, so listen to notices to be part of the fun, coaching and trivia competition.

A great looking publication is being prepared.  Order and pay for your copy at the P&C shop: $17 plus $3 for postage if needed.

Gold Leader Initiative

Emity and Lachlan spoke about the team's desire to do something different, something that highlights Harristown's unity, something to symbolise Harristown before the introduction of Year 7 students and something that leaves a mark on our school.  The Initiative will take place Thursday 9 October and will involve all students being part of making a huge sign that will be mounted on the Blue Gym wall to be clearly seen by the public.  The sign will display every student's hand print in House colours. Participation is the key to the success of the initiative. Student attendance is vital. Do not miss out on the opportunity to leave your mark on your school.

Other notices

Next Wednesday is National Ride to Work or School Day. Students are encouraged to participate safely.

The Chappy encouraged students to continue to help with filling shoeboxes for the Christmas Shoebox Appeal.  Bring pencils, colouring pens and little toys in before next Wednesday to help make a child overseas very happy.

Year 12 Assembly

Formal invites were handed out during Assembly.  Year 12s who were absent need to see Ms McAleer for your invite and letter to parents regarding the final week activities.

Students who don't receive an invite are not at 90% attendance and will need to see their House Deputy.
