library and information week 2015

Leaders: Arts Prefects, Jadzia and Tesi

Acknowledgment of Country: Antoine Roma

Principal's Address

Mr Green explained his absence over the past four days, visiting another school. He is glad to back and experience the friendliness of our students.

Mr Green shared his latest read from the Library: an Encyclopaedia of Rugby League. This was an inspired choice on the eve of the State of Origin and during Library and Information week. Mr Green began to relate a story about players being late for the game, unready to play. The story was used to illustrate what would never happen at State of Origin level because of the professionalism of the game.  Students can understand what it means to show up on time and be ready to play for a game. students need to do the same for school: act at the highest standard and be on time, be prepared, every lesson, every day.

Cross Country

After having to postpone our Cross Country in April due to the rain, over 330 students made their way to Kearneys Spring in perfect weather on Wednesday 6th May. The carnival went extremely well, with Mr Green, Ms Parker and Ms Livingstone all running the course alongside the students. Sports Prefects, Jack and Taylor announced the Cross Country Age Champions, listed in another article, and the winners of the Interhouse Cross Competition.

  • 4th place  Dherwain 485 points

  • The winner of the 10-3 Trophy for Overall Interhouse Cross Country Champions is Balkuin house on 787 points.
