Get your Techno Power back tonight - Lecture Theatre @ 7pm

Attendance

Our attendance target for every student is 95%. In the last few weeks we have been missing students, needing 43 of our absent students to be here to reach the target.

There are benefits to turning up. The major decisions in our world have been made by those who turned up to make them.

On Assembly, Mr Green gave a way a $20 iTunes voucher, with the catch that the winner must be here today.  The Junior Secondary Leaders helped by constructing the four digit number to make up the person who would win out of 1672 students.  student number 371: Balkuin student Jade was the winner.  Congratulations were given to Jade for turning up today. There will be one lucky draw per term and some bonus give aways. Students have to be here to win it: attendance has to be 95% and effort and behaviour have to be very good or excellent on mid-semester reports.

In Form Class students received a sticker for their Pride Planner which showed their percentage attendance over the first five weeks of the term. Parents and students are welcome to discuss the individual attendance percentage with their Student Manager, looking at how the student can reach the 95% target.

Assembly is special and important but for the last three weeks of this term plus first two weeks of next term Assembly will be in different locations as the floor of the Auditorium is replaced.  The Anzac Day commemoration will be outside on the oval.

Easterfest

Chappy Peter screened a video on Assembly promoting Easterfest with special deals if you book early.  He has many wristbands to give away that get you into one session for free.

Courtyard Culture

Tesi made a spectacular entrance. He and Jadzia introduced Courtyard Culture starting 2nd break Friday, 13th March  - a chance to show off talents in dance, drama, music, video, visual art and film. Students can either be involved in this great opportunity or come along to watch.

Year 7 & 8 Volleyball competition

During 2nd breaks, students in Form Classes will play games against other form classes.  Students can also come along to watch student exhibition matches.  The Most Valuable Players (MVP) will be selected from this competition as well as winning Form Classes. Opportunities follow on from being involved in playing in this competition, including volleyball camps and volleyball academy selection.

Stymie

Students will be involved in presentations Wednesday 11 March with a parent session presented in the Lecture Theatre at 7pm.

Cross Country

The Cross Country will be on 1 April. Permission and Medical forms are due back now. Students not doing the Cross Country will participate in a Fun Run at the school.
