After a short video presentation, Hawk I Students Taryn and Jacinta spoke about the different ways to connect to the Library as part of Library and Information Week.  This year we are encouraging students to 'Join the Dots' and connect to the Library:

  • Monday was Information and Research Day. Join the dots and connect to information through the Catalogue. You can search for information both in the Library and Online – you’ll find books, eBooks and digital videos you can access for your research. Explore the links to more information available through Toowoomba Regional Libraries, the Learning Place and the National Library of Australia. Connect to information through the Databases. You can access Web links, Newspapers, Science journals and History sources through the databases.  Just click on the links under the Search tab.
  • Tuesday we connected to research and study solutions. Use the ‘study and research tools’ tab to explore links to make study easier for you. Find great advice, tips to help and more.  If you are a Senior Student, book a study solutions appointment at the Library to help you get organised and find the best way to achieve.
  • Connect to reading on Wednesday. The Library is a great place to connect to reading – either through Library Online with eBooks or by borrowing an actual book from the Library building. In the Library today you can vote for the Top Read of the past year.  View the display and submit your vote in the box at the Front Counter.  Voting closes Friday at 3 pm.
  • Connect safely on Thursday. The Library is all about supporting you to be cyber aware. Visit Library Online and click on the ‘be cyber aware’ tab to find information about how to stay safe online. You can visit the Games Lounge during 2nd breaks.  Our Games Lounge teachers can help you find ways to play safely with your friends.
  • Join the dots at your Library. Whether you use the Library for play or study, you can join the dots and connect.
