Principal’s address

Mr Green began his weekly address with a reminder of his rugby league theme of never giving up.  He tossed the ball to both Nick and Ms Monagle but then ‘dropped the ball’. The expression is about starting but not finishing a job. He related an incident where he ‘dropped the ball’: the Every Day Counts Trophy which began in 2012 as an Inter-house reward for attendance. The calculations will begin again for 2015 and the results so far are below:
Term 1
4th place  Dherwain
3rd place  Barang
2nd place Bonda
1st place  Balkuin
Term 2
4th place  Barang
3rd place  Dherwain
2nd place Bonda
1st place  Balkuin
Term 3
4th place  Bonda
3rd place  Dherwain
2nd place Barang
1st place  Balkuin

The placings have been very close with only one student’s attendance making the difference for some terms, so students are encouraged to attend and add to their House’s efforts for Term 4.
Term 4 Week 1
4th place  Dherwain 1 point
3rd place  Balkuin 2 points
2nd place  Barang 3 points
1st place  Bonda  4 points

The best attending House on Fridays receive a bonus points, thereby making Balkuin equal with Barang at this point. Remember that every day counts.

Next week lucky draws for students who are achieving the behaviour effort and attendance targets.

Year 11 Legal Studies Wedding

The Legal Studies class performed to “Marry you” by Bruno Mars, culminating in an exciting proposal of marriage.  Will got down on one knee and presented a ring to Teanna, who accepted the proposal.

Jess and Georgia invited the school to be a part of the Legal Studies Mock Wedding on Friday 16th October 1st break G block courtyard.

Musical

Musical Captains, Jayde, Caspian & Julia reflected on this year’s production: the storyline, the music, the rehearsals, the venue (Heritage Auditorium, Empire Theatre), the performances and the successes. They acknowledged the staff and their leadership in the production was applauded. The captains, band, backstage crew, media crew, cast and dancers were presented with certificates and their participation was applauded. The Assembly enjoyed a slideshow celebrating the production.
