Acknowledgment of Country:  Angel Bates

Principal’s address

Mr Green spoke to the following topics:
  • Interhouse Attendance Trophy: Points have been awarded to Barang for best attending house on Friday and to Dherwain for most improved house. The points tally stands at:
    • 17 points - Barang
    • 18 points - Balkuin
    • 20 points - Bonda
    • 24 points - Dherwain
  • Mr Green commended Bonda Deputy Mrs Helen Parker for her work as a volunteer with students on literacy while on leave.
  • National day of action against bullying and violence: We’ve registered as a school. Mr Green reflected on an incident from his own high school years and the sense of injustice he felt as a bystander. The vast majority of our students are bystanders and face the question: When I see bullying or violence or know it is happening, what is my response? Our core values are Relationships and Integrity. If we are acting to preserve harmonious relationships and acting with integrity that will determine our responses.

Swimming Carnival Presentations

Sports Prefects Isabella and Isaac acknowledged the students who placed in the Age Champions. The Swimming Carnival Results article lists these students.
Cross country is on 28th March. Please return all medical forms to Form Teachers by Friday this week.

National Day of Action Against Bullying & Violence

Youth Support Co-ordinator, Paul Finch spoke about bullying and bystander behaviour. He encouraged students to seek out help and use Stymie if you are feeling hurt or see bullying. As a community we can take action against bullying by taking a pledge on Friday: a commitment to not accept bullying in our community. The Form Class with the highest pledges will be shouted a pizza.
