Principal's Address

Ms Monagle spoke, in Mr Green's absence, with Harry Hawk on School Values
Harry pretested the Assembly with a number of questions. Students participated appropriately.
  1. How many values do we have? 5
  2. What word do the 5 letters spell? PRIDE
  3. What do the words mean:
    • Participation is about contributing and attending
    • Relationships is about healthy interactions and listening with empathy and understanding
    • Integrity is being sincere, reliable and truthful; taking responsible risks and managing impulsivity;
    • Diligence is about being hardworking, committed and demonstrating a good effort;
    • Enthusiasm is about having energy, showing interest in your learning and having a positive and healthy attitude.
Harry then had to match statements to the values:
  • Be true and be truthful - Integrity
  • Be keen and get involved - Participation
  • Be cooperative and respectful, don't be a bystander - Relationships
  • Be engaged, ready, excited and positive - Enthusiasm
  • Be focused and committed - Diligence
We want them to be what we practice and we what to be known by these values.
Harry's message to his Hawks is: Take control of our own choices, join me and get involved, be respectful, be truthful, be committed, be ready, excited and positive.
