Principal's Address - "They just don't get it"

Mr Green spoke to the following topics
  • While the cancellation of the Swimming Carnival was a disappointment, especially for our Silver Leaders, Year 12 students and new Year 7 students, we will reschedule. (Now on Wednesday 21st February)
  • Review of last week's expectations:
    • ‘Be there at the start of the game!’: Be on time for every lesson
    • 'Never leave the field of play': Be where you should be at all times. Go to the Office to get in touch with our Support Team if you are unwell or need support.
  • With some subjects you may feel that you just don't get it. There are some students who are not yet understanding our sense of community: the hawk community. It's about RESPECT. We have a set of expectations for behaviour in the classroom and in the grounds that centre around showing respect. Your actions need to communicate that you respect others. Be respectful.

Harristones

Mrs Matheson and Mrs Krause spoke about the new group which will replace the vocal ensembles. Harristones is more than singing with students able to learn movement and drama skills for musicals. Students will learn three songs each term and participate in two performances each term and Presentation Night. You need to be in the Harristones to be eligible to audition for solos, performance and SHEP. Rehearsals are on Thursdays at first break and after school 3.30 - 4.30pm.

Roses

Interact are selling roses at the Canteen for $3. All money raised will go to a local community charity.
