Harmony Day Assembly

20/03/2013

Mr Green opened his Principal's address with congratulations to Kiara Taylor, selected in the Australian Girls Indigenous Netball team. He reminded students of the latest scores in the 'every day counts' attendance Inter house competition with Bonda in the lead. The learning intent for his address: Clearly identify those things that are distractions to us and get in the way of us achieving our very best. This message was served with the aid of a prop, pictured, and an anecdote about a distracting (for Mr Green) spiky plant. He encouraged students to identify each distraction and ways to manage their impulsivity and persist in achieving their best.

The Harristown Harmony Day Fashion Parade was enjoyed by all, with students presenting the traditional costumes from the many cultures represented in our school.
