HSHS Plans for Friday 31 March

Dear Parents/Carers
You may already be aware of the announcements of school closures in some educational regions in South East Queensland due to current weather events and also forecasts of more severe weather.
There is uncertainty about what may happen for Toowoomba schools for tomorrow, Friday 31 March.
I will seek to keep you informed. The safety of all members of our school community is our highest priority.
At this stage, Harristown State High School will be open as usual.
I am, however, advising the following:
·         Should parents/carers have any concern about the safety of their children attending school, or travelling to or from school, I would encourage you to err on the side of caution and not risk sending your children to school.
·         Our Year 9 Emu Gully Adventure for tomorrow has been cancelled.
·         Should there be an update from State Schooling or Queensland Emergency Services regarding further school closures, I will send more information.
·         At this point we have not been advised on any changes to school bus or other transport services.
I trust that all remain safe during the next 24 hours and the days to come.
Ken Green
