Bronze Leader Induction

Bronze Leaders - Sports Captains

The students were buzzing, eager to enter the crowded auditorium on the special day of March 12th 2014. Yet, there were a number of students with a special reason to be excited:  the Bronze Leader Initiation Ceremony.

These young leaders had all displayed the same valued P.R.I.D.E. characteristics of every great Hawk student, and have been rewarded by receiving the honour of leading their chosen group, whether it be in the arts, sports or cultural spheres of the school.

Sixteen of our finest had run and won the race to represent their year level in the Student Representative Council, or the SRC for short. They stand as a bridge between the staff and students, relaying student ideas to be implemented and issues to be dealt with, and organise a number of service to the school programs, such as both the Junior and Senior balls, Harristown’s entry in the Carnival of Flowers parade and fundraising activities such as Relay for Life.

Both groups of enthusiastic, devoted students have all earned their place in this year’s school leader catalogue. They have displayed endless leadership qualities, have maintained the school’s code of behaviour at all times and have been embodiments of Harristown’s coveted ethos of Engage, Achieve and Excel. With these remarkable kids in position, 2014 is definitely looking to be one of the best yet.
