Assembly Notes

The final Assembly for the 2013 Year of Engagement saw students fully engaged for the 70 minutes.

Members of The Ensemble played the National Anthem and were thanked for their efforts. Mr Green opened Assembly with an Acknowledgement of Country and our indigenous students. In his Leader's address, Mr Green spoke about the trend in improved Year 8 and 9 results, with reports being mailed home at the end of this week.  He reminded students about our teaching and learning framework, found under Curriculum, and our commitment to Dimensions of Learning and Habits of Mind to improve our learning for life.

Students enjoyed a video of the Leadership team dancing as part of Mr Green's ethics 'code' to work hard and have fun.

He directed students to look forward to a fresh new year with the support of new Year Coordinators and Student Managers and wished students the happiest and safest of holidays.

Healthy Hawks for the year finished with the combined group of Year 8 and 9 students participating in a Minute to Win It competition. Students demonstrated enthusiasm watching the competition on stage and via the upgraded Assembly link visual system. Volunteer competitors displayed diligence and integrity in their efforts to achieve. Students were engaged in the competition countdown and positive relationships were strengthened with students standing to be chosen, applauding others for their efforts and encouraging staff competitors too. Well done to Mr Schick and Mr Holcombe who excelled in their HPYC duties, supported by the Tech Crew who come in on their holidays.
